We love it when nerds grow up. Leonard Carson, an engineering technician for San Diego Composites knew the cost of building a carbon fiber Stormtrooper suit would be pricey, but he managed to use his persuasive Jedi mind tricks on three of his colleagues and convince them to build their own too.
Using Grade A carbon fiber, Carson and his boys got to work, even impressing their company’s boss enough to have him foot some of the cost, so long as they build one to decorate their office lobby.
So how much did it cost him? He’s not saying. All he says is that he could have bought a nice car with the money he spent. Hyundai nice? Ferrari nice? No clue – but in our opinion, totally worth it!
