In the never ending game of cell phone one-up-manship, HTC has launched it’s latest contender – the Rezound. Let’s start with the “zound” part – Beats Audio. HTC ponied up $300 million to buy 51% of Beats Electronics, so you know it is going to show up in all their stuff now. So yea, it has amazing sound. However, not only does it sound great through the included Beats Audio headphones, but plug it into an HDTV and you get 5.1 surround sound.
Enough of the audio though – let’s talk about the smartphone part. A 4.3-inch 720p HD screen, 4G data via Verizon LTE, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and an additional 16GB microSD card fill out the rest of a top-notch spec sheet. Don’t forget the 2MP front and 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 sensor, capable of recording full 1080p video.
Launch date is November 13th. Price is $299. Desire is high. More info at www.verizionwireless.com
