Parrot Asteroid

Most states are going to the “No talking on your cell phone while driving without a hands-free device” laws, and most Bluetooth headsets suck.  Some of the more modern cars have hands-free built in, but what is you drive a, let’s say, 1963 Ford Falcon Futura.  They didn’t have seat belts in those!  If you decide to upgrade that AM stereo, why not upgrade to one that has hands-free calling built in?  Parrot has been known as a leader in the hands-free realm for quite a while, so it makes sense that they would make a car stereo with their technology built into it.  Did we mention this car stereo happens to be Android powered?  Oh yea…

Specs of the radio:

  • Large 3.2’’ screen
  • 4 x 55W MOSFET amplifier with subwoofer output
  • 3G accessible through telephone service or 3G stick
  • Connected service: POI, traffic, radar control service, Music On Demand, fuel stations
  • Phonebook and Voice Activated Music Search
  • iPod/iPhone, USB, SD card, Line-in connection

With access to thousands of Android apps, there is little this stereo can’t do.  Music, phone, navigation – it’s awesome.  I wonder if there is a “wax my car” app?
