Girl Walk // All Day

Okay music buffs out there – do you know who Gregg Gillis is?  No?  Trust us – the RIAA does.  Gregg is better know by his stage name, Girl Talk.  So what makes Gregg different than other musicians?  His instrument of choice is a laptop.  Girl Talk is an American musician specializing in mashups and digital sampling.  Basically, he combines other peoples music to make his own sound – and the sounds is good.  At least 3 times a week you hear one of his albums blasting at almost full volume in the GadgetFeast offices.

GadgetFeast, however, isn’t the only organization that LOVES Girl Talk.  Jacob Krupnick was so taken with Girl Talk’s album, All Day, that he decided to make a music video of it.  A full length video of the ENTIRE album.

From the video’s website:

“Girl Walk // All Day is a feature-length dance music video and tale of urban exploration that follows three dancers across New York City.  They turn the city’s sidewalks, parks and architecture into an evolving stage as they spread their joy of movement.

The film is a story about self-discovery and love, and it’s a tale about finding community and vitality in shared public spaces.  The idea for the project emerged from our desire to expand the boundaries of the single-track music video, to an epic musical film.”

Girl Walk // All Day was released in segments twice a week, with the final installment just released a few days ago.  We have been watching it repeatedly as it is JUST THAT AWESOME!

Check out the complete video at, check out Girl Talk at and go see a live screening of the show!  Details their website.  We are going to the viewing in Portland, OR – see you guys there!?
