It seems like Google is making an answer to almost everything Apple. This one even looks a bit like an apple! What it is, is the Nexus Q – their answer to Apple TV. Here is what it has under the hood:
- Dual ARM Cortex-A9 CPUs
- 16GB of storage
- 1GB of RAM
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
- NFC
- 25W amplifier with banana jack outputs
- micro HDMI and optical audio outputs
- Ethernet
- Micro USB port for service and support
- Android 4.0
All of this is in a crazy looking, orb-shaped case that has 32 LED lights that totally trip out to the beat of whatever you are playing. Want to know what is really crazy? There is no user-interface for it. You use Google Play or YouTube directly on your handheld or computer and rock. This would make a killer bookshelf stereo too – just connect a nice set of Bluetooth speakers.
Pre-order now and get it now when it comes out in mid-July.
