Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Ultrabooks are awesome.  Who needs those pesky optical drives anyway!  Lenovo’s latest release, the X1 Carbon, is the lightest entry into the ultrabook realm, while still packing some serious tech.  Featuring the 3rd gen Intel Ivy Bridge processor, it also packs a 1,600 x 900-pixel 14 inch screen all while weighing in at at under three pounds and measuring 0.7 inches deep at its thickest point.

A lot of the weight reduction comes from the carbon-fiber “roll cage” chassis, which is light but incredibly durable – able to stand up to the scratches and dings that just happen with a laptop. Other cool features include the 3G/4G LTE connectivity and the “Rapid Charge” system, which gets your battery to 80% in just 30 minutes.  Perfect for the layover top off.  For those overnight flights, the back-lit keyboard – one of the best in the business – if a welcome feature too.

Did we mention it is made from carbon fiber?

Coming this summer – and yes – we want it!
