Polk UltraFocus 8000 Headphones

Polk UltraFocus 8000

We saw a ton of headphones at CES – a TON.  None of the over the ear headphones we saw, however, held a candle to these.

Let’s go over why we voted these best headphones of CES.  First – carbon fiber head band.  That right there put it in the running.  Seconds was just how incredibly comfortable they were.  Light and didn’t squeeze your head – you could wear them all day.

Then there was the sound.  We use Dave Brubeck’s ‘Take Five’ as our test audio, and the UltraFocus 8000s reproduced the sound perfectly.  They reminded us of much more expensive studio monitoring headphones, which with their $350 price point isn’t a bad thing at all!  Click on the active noise cancelling, and they were as amazing listening to nothing as they were listening to Mr. Brubeck.  One of the coolest features we demoed was the “Push-Th-Hear Ambient Control”.  Just push one of the buttons on the headphone, and it mutes the music and amplifies exterior human voice frequencies, so you can interact with the outside world without removing your headphones.

But wait – there’s more!  The built-in microphone allows you to use it as a headset for your favorite phone.  But what if you don’t have blue teeth?  Then just plug in the included 55″ Ultra-flexible tangle-free planar audio cable to anything with a 3.5mm hole.

Bottom line?  Sound amazing – look amazing – feel amazing – all with a price point too good to pass up.
